A Beautiful Way to Reduce Stress

When you need a quick break to reduce stress, focusing on an image can help shift the brain from words, analysis and executive functioning, to sensing, feeling and connecting. It can be like pressing the "reset" button on your own mind, so you can return to the task at hand, a little more refreshed. To see how it works for you, I invite you to try this in the next few minutes:

• Take your time as you look at each of the four pictures  below, in turn.  

• Let your eyes trace and then settle into the roundness ...

• and then relax into the interplay of light, shape and colour, which makes up each unique whole. 

• Just experience the wordless beauty of each image and notice how each picture makes you feel.
